In School
Children are given a monthly report with
an effort grade, an attainment grade and comments.
Termly parent/teacher
meetings are an opportunity to discuss the child's progress academically
and socially. Children are given individual goals and targets each term.
In July, end of year exams are held for all
academic subjects. Project work is assessed throughout the year.
External
Children are given the
NFER Nelson reading and
mathematics assessments which provide a standardized measurement of the
child's reading age and score. These are given twice in each year - as
the child enters the class in September, and as they leave the class in
July.
Children in Year 2 (the end
of Keystage 1) and Year 6 (the end of Keystage 2) take the Standardized
Assessment Tests, or "SATs". These exams, from England, provide an
accurate placing of the child on a National scale. In Year 2 the
children are tested in English and Maths, and in Year 6 in English,
Maths and Science.
During the past two years, our children have been well above average in
their scores. |
